What to expect from the immigration process under Skilled Migrant Category:

We will submit your Expression of Interest online.

Step 4: Selection
Immigration New Zealand's selection of your Expression of Interest depends on the pass mark on the selection day and on the mix of criteria you are able to satisfy.

Step 5: Invitation to Apply
After receiving an Invitation to Apply, you will have four months to prepare your residence application.

Step 6: Lodging your Residence Application
We lodge your residence application under the Skilled Migrant Category, including detailed submissions and the required documentation.

Step 7: Decision Making
Your application will be assessed against Government residence policy and Immigration New Zealand will make a decision on your application.

 
KEY FACTS:
  • Threshold of points required to be placed in the pool: 100 points

  • Points required for automatic selection from the pool: 140 points

  • Expressions of Interest between 100 points and 140 points which include either a New Zealand job offer or points for current employment in New Zealand, may be selected according to the numbers required to fill the quota.

  • If further places are available, additional Expressions of Interest will be selected according to criteria set by the Minister of Immigration.
