Mr. and Mrs. Jiang are a senior couple (they are both over 70 years old). They came to New Zealand in 2005 on visitor visas and wished to stay with their children.
We helped them to stay in New Zealand by initially applying for visitor permits for them and then while they were still legally in New Zealand on their visitor permits, we applied for permanent residence for them.
However, the immigration case officer was not satisfied with the results of their medical checks, so we prepared a case arguing that Mr and Mrs Jiang should be allowed to remain in New Zealand despite their health problems.
Our submissions were successful and eventually their residence application was approved.
